Long awaited update

Hi all , apologies for I have been neglecting my blog.
The past couple of years have been filed under 'Makes you stronger' they have been troublesome to say the least. Anyway enough of all that and time to get on with being stronger and getting back on track!

An update from an earlier post - I have now took part in the Race for Life for the past 2 years running and plan to run again next year. It always brings me to tears viewing a sea of pink ladies all prepared (or not as the case may be) to run, smile chat and cry for 5k in aid to raise funds or just to remember those they've lost along lifes path to the awful disease that is cancer.
Pic from July 2010 Race for Life in Newcastle Exhibition Park.

This year my daughter decided not to run with me and the other ladies and watched on the sidelines with the many husbands, other halfs and children all shouting things like 'well done girls!!', 'come on ladies, not far now' 'nearly there!!' of course even though your legs feel like they no longer belong to you and your thinking 'why am I doing this again?' and 'god, I'm so unfit' you smile and carry on praying that you can make it to the finish line before your legs fall off and your heart gives up. All worth the momentary pain and suffering and nothing compared to the truth of living with cancer.

July 10th 2011 this time on the Town Moor in Newcastle. This is myself (left) and my good friend Malvina.
Here's to next year girls!!

Well after moving house, getting a new job and completing my studies I've not had time to indulge in my passion for all things polymer clay, but I do have some new pictures for you from when I did. (hoping that I get to indulge in the near future).

Long Time No See!

Evening everyone, whats been happening while Ive been away? Have I missed much?

Ive spent the last 10 months studying Cisco networking, an exam every 6-8 weeks, essays and tests made it quite a hectic and demanding time. I'm now back and cant wait to get the clay out!!! I'm in the process of opening up my Etsy shop and will keep you guys posted on the progress.

Wow, spare time where have you been Ive missed you so.

Oh is it over yet?

Its been a pretty hectics few weeks..not sure if hectic is the right word for a run of bad luck?

It all started with the laptop charger breaking on the very first day of my online course for the CCNA exam, not a good start but never mind its early days. So I ordered a charger from Ebay £6 what a bargain!! took a fair few days to come as I ordered on a friday but hey ho, it arrived and all was great made plans to get caught up and continue with the SHAK website redesign.

I got 2 days out of my laptop before the hdd failed, and its unrepairable!!! great so a t the moment I have a lend of a laptop from family, just as well. I was also going to redo all of the photos in my folksy shop but thats on hold too.
Ive spent the last week and a half desperately trying to get caught up with study while I was off work with Swine Flu....lucky me, I'm still trying to get caught up another 2 weeks should do it hopefully. Any way Ive lost everything from the laptop luckily I had emiled the website design so I have that...phew that was lucky Ive put alot of work into it!

The most annoying thing ever is that the laptop was literally just out of guarantee!!!!! and only 1yr old..grrrrrrrrrrrrr

I have an old tower that is being repaired as we speak and that should see me through until I ve saved up enough money to get my dream laptop.

Moan over and feel much better for venting....................Thanks x

Heres to 2010!!

This year is going to be great! I can feel it, and probably my busiest so far.

I am signing up for 'The Race for Life' - Among all of the usual worthy reasons to do with family and so on I myself found a lump in my breast around the same time as my 30th birthday!! so off I popped to the docs (expecting to be told its a cyst or fatty tissue) the doctor then found lumps in my other breast and referred me to the hospital of my choice for a biopsy.

As you may well suspect I fell apart, my mind played games and my thoughts just ran away with my emotions, I cried at the Chelsea Flower show on tv just thinking that I happen to like flowers..alot!..and my enjoyment of such things could be taken away if the worst was to happen, feeling this way about flowers was one thing but when I looked at my chidrens faces everyday and remembering all the times we shared just left me sobbing with a feeling of angels banging inside my chest. You really do realise all that is good in life even when things seem soo wrong.

In my quest for more information I stumbled upon the Breast Cancer Care Forums where I read post after post about women who have BC, daughters whos' mums have BC and soul after soul whos life is affected by breast cancer in one way or another. I cried at many of the conversations that were happening not just because of the destruction that BC can cause but because of the kindness and support of the women involved all taking time to comfort, reassure and inform the people who needed it. I only ever posted once and that was to say a massive thank you as they helped me more than they'll ever know.

It's my time to say thanks again and raise some money for a very worthy cause....one day you may need their support, but lets hope that never happens!!

I also stumbled across a blog about an amazing woman with an equally amazing personality and her fight against BC. She tells it like it is, how it was and how its going to be!!

I am one of the lucky ones and all was good.x

I've said soo much and still have more to say.....not unusual for me at all...hahaha

I also have 2 courses this year, 1 to become Cisco certified and another that is the second half of my web design course, Ive opened my online shops and I also work luckily just part time. Oh yes and I need to fit in training somewhere, Im a size 18 and unfit as can be!!! training is going to be funny for those who are running with me!!
